Student Housing With A Creative Difference

At Juniata College, in central Pennsylvania, Jake Weller expected to be laughed out of the room when he submitted a proposal to the dean of students: he wanted to live for a year in a geodesic dome. He not only got permission but was exempted from student fees. The dome, built with $2,300 and after a rereading of Thoreau's "Walden," sits behind the natural science building on a hill overlooking campus.
